MASS START

Free Software Massive 5G MIMO

The 5G MIMO Massive technology in the centimeter bands is planned to be deployed in 2019 in Asia and the United States, Europe will not make this type of frequency available for several years. The ambition of the MASS START project is to deliver a 5G MIMO Massif implementation in free software to enable French manufacturers, SMEs and operators to develop solutions for the global 5G market, for harmonized or non-harmonized frequency bands (eg: 5.9-8.5GHz) but which would lead to better overall 5G performance. The use of free software OAI will federate global skills around French actors.
