PhotonHub Europe – EUROPEAN ONE-STOP SHOP FOR PHOTONICS INNOVATION

AKTANTIS is a partner in the European PhotonHub Europe project, which brings together 53 European partners, including the other French photonics clusters (Photonics France, Alpha-RLH, Photonics Bretagne, Minalogic and Systematic Paris-Région).

The project

PhotonHub Europe aims to create a European photonics innovation hub to support and accelerate the deployment and adoption of photonics, particularly in application markets.

The technologies, expertise, infrastructure and skills of the 53 project partners enables to offer a range of services to “non-photonics” SMEs, start-ups and large European groups, that are interested in using photonics to innovate in one of the following eight sectors: Agri-food, Energy, Digital Infrastructures, Mobility, Health, Manufacturing, Safety/Security/Smart Cities, Space/Defence.

The services

The PhotonHub Europe photonics innovation hub provides:

  • A range of training and advanced training courses to learn about photonics, both in terms of technology and applications, at the hub’s 40 demonstration centres and 10 experience centres across Europe, backed up by digital e-learning courses;

  • testbeforeinvest” innovation support to engage in collaborative innovation projects between companies and laboratories, aiming to accelerate TRL from prototyping (TRL3-4) to manufacturing (TRL7-8), complemented by targeted advice on business and intellectual property;

  • Investment sourcing support, including investment preparation, business coaching and introductions to investors

Details of the project :

  • Programme : Horizon Europe 2020
  • Duration : 01/01/2021 to 30/04/2026
  • Coordinator : Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Belgique.
