Hip fractures are a real human and financial issue and affect nearly 50,000 elderly people a year in France. Hippy’s aim is to develop and design an airbag belt to absorb falls and prevent hip fracture. Hippy focuses its R&D effort on learning-based fall detection system and on the miniaturization of the elements making up the belt, especially electronics, airbag materials and gas generator.
