JUBILATION

Laser effects and faults on the integrated circuits dedicated to the security

The JUBILATION project is devoted under investigation vulnerabilities appearing at the material level during the physical implementation of cryptographic algorithms. And more particularly, under investigation of the attacks by injection of faults by means of sources laser (attacks in differential faults, attacks by modification of algorithm, safe error, etc).
The feasibility of the attacks presented in a theoretical way in the literature will be tested, as well as the effect of the passage to advanced technologies (CMOS 65.40, and 28 Nm).
A laser work of modeling of the effects on the circuits will be undertaken. The models obtained will be used to develop simulators representative of the physical effects. This project must allow a better comprehension of the concerned physical phenomena and their experimental application. Its finality is to propose new principles of sedentary evaluation of the circuits with respect to these attacks and to validate adapted countermeasures.
