Think to PaaS for Multi-IaaS Cloud Computing
The CloudForce Project aims to provide an Open Software Engineering platform for collaborative cloud application development, deployment and administration by targeting portability across multiple IaaS Cloud infrastructures. Available on the cloud, it will integrate, in the form of Internet services and open models, all the software engineering bricks to manage the life cycle of complex virtual appliances, available à la carte.
The CloudForce project will integrate components of Modeling (THINK), Development and Imaging (BUILD) and a multi-IaaS (RUN) compatible PaaS Platform for deployment, orchestration, performance testing, self-management (elasticity, Green IT optimization) and the provisioning of JavaEE – OSGi Cloud virtualized applications (JavaEE RUN PaaS on multiple IaaS cloud infrastructures).
The project addresses the design and development of a software layer at the PaaS level, including the inter-mediation between PaaS and IaaS, and enabling the development and deployment of such applications potentially on several IaaS infrastructures.
The project results will be available as a platform accessible to developers and administrators of applications and administrators of the platform itself via a Self-Service Portal. The CloudForce project aims for an open source valuation (OW2 Open Source Cloudware initiative).
